Main synonym = Anthrenus varius    Fabricius, 1775
Taxonomical Classification:  Animalia / Arthropoda / Insecta / Coleoptera / Dermestidae
Varied Carpet Beetle     Ħanfusa tat-Tessuti
Further Information:
In the wild, this species' larvae feed on proteins in natural fibres (such as those in dead insects' cuticles or birds' feathers), but this beetle can become an indoor pest as larvae will also feed on organic material in clothes, furniture and so on. Locally, this beetle is more common in the countryside, often found on flowers as the adults feed on nectar and pollen.
